Hospital for the insane and pregnant women in Edo cries out for help

A traditional hospital taking care of lunatics and pregnant women situated at Ugbokhirima in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State has cried out to the state government for help.
Native Doctor Ogieva Okunbor who founded the hospital in 1985 in an interview with  our correspondent disclosed that Edo State Government through Ministry of Women Affairs used to assist the inmates of the asylum home with drugs, food, and other consumable.
He however regretted that the assistance from the state government stoppe two years ago without any explanation, hence his decision to appeal to the state government to resume the humanitarian supplies to the traditional hospital in the interest of the inmates.
A staff of the hospital, Mrs. Izegbuwa Igbinevbo said the hospital is facing serious challenges as the neglect of the hospital is taking its toll on the patients.
She identified areas of needs to include food items, clothes, drugs and books among other learning materials for the children of some of the hospital inmates who are pupils of primary schools in the area.
