High-powered committee for Bauchi APC stakeholders mediation

As part of the efforts to bring the warring All Progressives Congress, APC stakeholders in Bauchi state into a unified umbrella, Governor Mohammed Abubakar has constituted a high-level mediation team to resolve the impasse among the state party stakeholders.
Governor Mohammed Abubakar, who revealed about the constitution of the mediation team that comprised technocrats and traditional rulers, said the team has already swung into action visiting Abuja where it will be sitting with National Assembly members representing the state for interchanges.
The Governor, while receiving people from Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro federal constituency in the state who were at the Government House for a solidarity visit, said that the composition of the mediation team include three paramount emirs of the state.
Abubakar did not however disclose names of the Emirs in the mediatory committee, but a source at the corridors of power said they include Dass and Misau Emirs, Othman Bilyaminu Othman, and Ahmed Suleiman respectively.
Bauchi state APC chairman, Uba Ahmed Nana also at the occasion chipped in to attribute wrangling among party stakeholders in the state to undercurrents of fusion of three registered political parties that constituted the APC as a party.
Alhaji Uba Nana recalled that the dynamics of the merger have since the formation of the APC as a party been subjecting some of its members into jittery over some political issues, saying the wrangling among members testifies how strong the party is.
Governor Mohammed Abubakar had during the occasion announced the state government’s approval for the relocation of College of Agriculture from Bauchi to Dass following complaint by the people that they lacks a tertiary institution in the area since the creation of Dass Local Government in 1976.
According to him, the relocation of the college was to encourage the people of Dass known for rice cultivation to boost the production towards making Bauchi self-reliance, and reiterated government’s commitment to pay-off the 10% interest on CBN loans to support farmers in the produce both food and cash crops.
Abubakar, who explained that his administration is executing a number of development projects in the Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro federal constituency, however regretted that the state awarded contract for the reconstruction of Dur Bridge before it was taken over by the Federal government.
The Governor assured the people that he has not forgotten them as regard political appointments into the government, stressing that such issues are being carefully considered to avoid fatal mistakes, and called on the for continued prayers for God’s salvation from the current economic recession.
A spokesman of the delegation and caretaker chairman of Dass Local Government, Murtala Ibrahim had earlier said that they were at the Government House to show their solidarity to the government and pledged unalloyed support to Governor Mohammed Abubakar.
The chairman appealed to the government to construct rural roads to facilitate evacuation of food and cash crops, establishment of more health facilities, and provision of water supply schemes in the area.
Alhaji Murtala Ibrahim who spoke about youth unemployment in the area, however on behalf of the people in the federal constituency endorsed the candidature of Governor Mohammed Abubakar for the 2019 general elections under the APC.
