President of HEKAN, Rev. (Dr.) Amos G. Kiri has vowed to use the next five years in office in human capital development.
He expressed this in an acceptance speech delivered to usher in a second term in office of another five years, on Sunday February 6, 2022 at the HEKAN Centre, Kaduna.
“My aim and my team during my second term as president is to focus on people development. People as you know, are the greatest assets any organization could have.
“We shall pay particular attention to the spiritual and social development of our people. The outcome of this effort shall make HEKAN succeed in her mission and in the realization of her vision,” he said.
He said that he has no doubt that it will also provide assurance that growth can be sustained in HEKAN.
He added that, “The spiritual development of our people is number one in my heart, we shall by the grace of God, provide enabling environment in our churches and we shall leverage on our media handles and the Bible school at AMBI to achieve this objective.
“The campus of Aleyideino Bible School in Kaduna metropolis shall also be revived to accommodate those willing to acquire theological knowledge in and around the city.”
Other areas he promised to focus on developing are, social, research, infrastructure and leadership.
He recalled that within the last five years, they embarked on strategic alignment between members and the leadership with the goal to position HEKAN on the path of growth and development.
“We did this in line with HEKAN’s mission and vision and as a result of this alignment; we made some remarkable progress in fostering relationship; one that is based on trust to develop the Church towards a sustainable future.
” During this period we have reviewed and signed off the HEKAN new constitution and we have launched the HEKAN history book the first of its kind in 2021.
“We have built HEKAN media handles some of which are currently undergoing renewal. We have also built a membership database, the HEKAN information management system (HIMS) for administrative purposes and we continue to support entrepreneurship in the Church. Preparation and development of HEKAN strategic development plan is on-going.
“In 2020 we successfully hosted the TEKAN General assembly and have ordained many of our ministers just to mention a few of several accomplishments we have made in the last five years,” he said.
According to him, in the area of infrastructural development, they have made the most significant and historic achievement with the conceptualization and construction of HEKAN multipurpose Secretariat complex.
“We did this to fulfil the dreams of our founding fathers to have a befitting Secretariat Complex. The flagship project is a 3-floor office block; a modern building that is designed with redundant flexibility for multiple uses.
“The project is expected to be completed and commissioned this year 2022 by the grace of God. I want to thank you most profoundly for your contribution with funds, materials, skills, time and prayers in support of the Secretariat project. It wouldn’t have been possible without our collective effort.
“Even though the devil tried to discourage us to think it was impossible but God who is behind the project has performed what I considered a miracle with what we have accomplished on the Project thus far.
“My Dear Brothers and Sisters, we still have a lot to do to complete the milestone dream project. May I at this point ask for your continued support and free will donation to meet our target of moving into the Secretariat in 2022,” he said.
The HEKAN President pointed out that the benefits from the formation of HEKAN Development Forum cannot be over emphasized.
“I must recognize and appreciate the commitment and zeal of the forum (HDF) for their effort since 2018 when we started the construction of HEKAN Secretariat project they have never relented.
“And to have successfully executed the magnitude of work we have seen on site. We cannot appreciate you enough please accept our sincere appreciation and prayer for God to bless you even as you continue to hold brief on our behalf,” he prayed.
