The National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) Zone ‘A’, has called on the federal government to make available and hasten the provision of CNG buses to tertiary institutions to ease transportation challenges faced by students in the country.
The students also called on the federal government to expedite the process of opening more CNG conversion service stations in the country.
On arbitrary increase in school fees, the association expressed deep concern over the, “abrupt and exponential” increase in school fees across tertiary institutions in the country under the new academic calendar, saying that the worrisome development requires urgent attention from all well-meaning Nigerians and stakeholders in the education sector.
A communique jointly issued on Tuesday by Dominic Philip, Umar Suleiman Doko and Ahmed Bashir Magaji after three days meeting in Kaduna, said, “National Education Loan Fund: While commending the Federal Government on the
establishment of the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) popularly known as students loan, Congress highlighted the widespread need for accessible funding. It cautioned against institutions using rising utility and service costs as a pretext for increasing fees.
