Following the economic hardship bedeviling Nigeria, the Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone, Prof. Anthony Ani, has empowered farmers, Artisans, youth from the constituency, urging Nigerians to be patient with President Ahmed Bola Tinubu as he has good policies and programmes that will boost our economy and make Nigerians smile.
The empowerment programme which took place at Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, witnessed large turnout of stakeholders, religious leaders, party stalwarts,youths from various communities in Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone.
In an interview after the empowerment programme, senator Anthony Ani said it is part of his campaign manifesto to give his Constituence fair representation and ensure the reap dividends of democracy which made him to initiate the empowerment of his people to alleviate economic hardship, saying that he has started skill acquisition because it is the only way youths can be meaningfully engaged.
While speaking on Presidential Fertilizer Initiative, he noted that it is timely because the only way to boost agricultural production is through fertilizer application; so that it will do well.He commended president Tinubu for coming up with such human oriented initiative to rescue Nigeria out of economic hardship.
On his part, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru used the opportunity to appreciate the people of Onicha LGA for their massive support,the governor who was represented by his deputy,Mrs. Patricia Onyemechi Obila,noted that this administration anchored on People’s charter of needs will do everything possible to carry Onicha people along in their various activities, adding that Ebonyi State Government has so many empowerment programmes for all Ebonyians.
`I promised fair representation when I was going to Senate, and I want to fullfil that promise. It is my desire that my people shall reap the dividends of democracy.
“I have started skills acquisition at micro level,I have started that, because that is the only youths could be meaningfully engaged.If youths are meaningfully engaged,the issue of crime will be maximally reduced.
“About presidential fertilizer initiative and giving its importance to agricultural development, fertilizer is important for high yield. President Ahmed Tinubu brought the initiative and it is very important. It is the only way to come out of economic hardship; it is to be fully engaged in agriculture.
“The only way to boost agricultural production is through fertilizer,so that it will do well.
“Be patient with President Ahmed Tinubu, sooner than later, we shall all enjoy dividends of democracy in Nigeria. He has good policies and programmes and very soon, people will sing songs of praises,” Senator Ani said.
