Gunmen Kill Soldier, Abduct Housewife, 2 Children In Zaria

The house of Dr. Ahmed Buba  a staff of Kaduna State University (KASU) was attacked by bandits at his resident in Milgoma area opposite Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika Zaria and four people  from the community were abducted.

Dr. Ahmed Buba, a younger brother to Ambassador Sule Buba and his family members are safe and healthy, despise the attack by the bandits. 

In an effort to rescue the victims from the bandits, one Okekechukwu Ebuka a soldier was shot to death. 

The ugly incident happened on September 13 around 9.00pm while the bandits were intercepted at the early hours of Sept. 14.at Kasuwar Da’a along Birnin Gwari road. 


A reliable source said the bandits were numbering about 30, armed with sophisticated weapons and shooting sporadically in the air as they attacked the community.


“The joint personnel of Kaduna State Vigilance Service, Military and Police swiftly responded to the distress call.


” On sight of the security the bandits open fire and engaged in gun duel. Thereby, one soldier died as a result of the gun shot at an undisclosed hospital,” the source said.


A resident of the area said the six kidnapped children were rescued at Kasuwan Da’a in Zaria local government by the combined efforts of security operatives.


He added that the bandits have also gone with a housewife Rabi Isya and her children; Sulaiman Isya, Amina Isiya and Mus’ab Isya.


However, Lt. Joy Abah, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations Officer Depot Nigeria Army Zaria said the information on the death of the soldier has not reached her.

Also, the Kaduna State Command of the Nigerian police spokesman, ASP Muhammad Jalige said he can’t speak on what  involves the Army.
