The chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC)  Ondo State chapter, Hon. Isaacs Kekemeke has assured the party’s gubernatorial aspirants and members that the party governorship primary outcome will be determined by the over three thousand party delegates in the state.

Kekemeke, made these comments while receiving some items donated for the use of the State Party Secretariat by Hon. Isaac Olemija, APC member in the National Assembly, representing Akoko North East/North West, local government.
Hon. Kekemeke in a statement which was made available to newsmen by the Director of Media and publicity, Mr. Steve Otaloro in Akure, also said that the APC governorship primary will ensure a level playing field for all the aspirants.
He noted that even though the responsibility of organising primary elections rests on the National Executive Council Members, he assured members that the election will be free, fair and transparent and whoever will emerge victorious, will win fairly, while those who will lose will also lose fairly.
This he said would make the election credible as the party would do everything within its power to ensure a free, fair and transparent primary.
Hon. Kekemeke, however, noted that it is within the rights of any member to support any aspirant of his/her choice but no individual has the power to impose any candidate on the party, not even the Chairman, the Deputy Chairman or the Secretary has such powers.
He noted that every party leader have preferences, the only thing they can do is to use goodwill or influence, but he stressed that the election will still be decided by the delegates and will be free and fair and the electorates will see their votes clearly as everything will be done in the open.
The party chairman therefore sought the support of party members to make sure that the party primary election is transmitted live on television and prayed that anyone who will not benefit the party and the State at large will not get the ticket of the party.

According to him “the hardship we are witnessing in the state is a reflection of bad leadership not well picked”.
The APC Chairman expressed appreciation to the lawmaker on behalf of the Party and State Executives for the good gesture and assured him that they would be judiciously used.
He also used the opportunity to express the party’s gratitude to the five members of the party in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly for their monthly donations to the party, the money he said has been of tremendous help in running the party affairs in the last seven months.
He also acknowledged the various support by the legislators to their various constituencies and thanked them for this. He described Hon. Olemija as a great party man who has been of great support for the APC in the state. He concluded that the intention of the party is to have party members, who are committed to the cause of the party like Hon. Olemija, elected at various levels of representation, so that when they win elections the party also wins, as party members and the people of the state will be remembered for good.
