The Tiv Cultural and Social Association in Taraba State has commended the efforts of Governor Darius Ishaku in  ensuring the return of peace to the state and pledged to mobilize support for the governor’s peace efforts.
President of the Association, Mr. Goodman Daniel Dahida made the commendation in Jalingo shortly after taking oath as the President General of the association.
Mr. Dahida commended the steps taken  by governor Darius Ishaku in ensuring that all internally displaced persons (IDPs) return to their homes in the state.
“Governor Ishaku has not only been talking peace, he has taken the peace project dear to his heart and today, we are enjoying relative peace across the state” Dantahida further stated.
The Association’s President noted that despite the commendable steps so far taken by the governor to ensure that peace return to the state, some land grabbers were holding tight to the pieces of land belonging to the  internally displaced persons  returnees, the practice which he said is capable of causing crisis.
He called on the local Chiefs and others still holding tight to the displaced people’s land to give peace a chance by returning the lands to their owners, warning that he will explore all the legal means to ensure that all the displaced persons get back their lands.
“We are coming on board at a time our people are grappling with numerous challenges, particularly insecurity and we shall coordinate our people to support the governor for peace and development of the state,” he said.
