*Says 60th anniversary tree planting gives hope to Nigeria

Following the just concluded 60th Anniversary of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has applauded NIPR activities and achievements in Ebonyi State, saying that the 60th anniversary tree planting has shown that there is hope in Nigeria.
The governor disclosed this in Abakaliki after the road walk and tree planting exercise initiated to mark the celebration of Diamond Anniversary of NIPR in Ebonyi State.
The governor used the opportunity to appreciate the activities of NIPR in Ebonyi State, stating that the trees planted will help to make Nigeria Green again.
The governor who was ably represented by the Director General of Ebonyi State Broadcasting Corporation, Hon.Tony Nwizi further noted that the exercise goes to show that there is hope for Nigeria and will draw us closer as a people despite the challenges facing this country.
`The 60th anniversary of NIPR is a very clear indication that NIPR has come to stay in this country, Nigeria.And I applaud the efforts of the current president who has brought out the initiative of this tree planting excercise to commemorate this 60th anniversary.
“This initiative goes to show that there is hope for Nigeria because this exercise actually brings us closer since it is happening across the 36 states and FCT,and by the grace of God,the trees planted today will add to making Nigeria green again.
On her part, the HOD of Mass Communication Department of Ebonyi State University, who is also the Chairman of NIPR, Ebonyi State Chapter, Dr. Agatha Orji Egwu expressed joy and satisfaction over the Diamond Anniversary of NIPR in Nigeria, explaining that NIPR was established in 1963 and has contributed a lot towards the growth and development of this country.
She also stated that the Diamond Walk’ and Tree Planting is for economic transformation, and to change the narrative in order to make Nigeria Green again.
`We are celebrating the Diamond Anniversary of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).NIPR is 60 years,and we are celebrating the anniversary.NIPR was established in 1963; we decided to commemorate it with this `Diamond walk’ and `Tree planting’ for economic transformation. Nigeria used to be a beautiful country and Nigeria will still be better, but we want to change the narrative by making Nigeria green again.
“This is NIPR Green Initiative, the trees we planted will help in economic development.NIPR has achieved a lot in the last 60 years. It is about creating a conducive atmosphere for everything to work well; it is like oil you add to your will to avoid friction.And this is why NIPR is proactive.NIPR waters the ground for every other thing to work normally especially for human being to coexist and that is what we want in Nigeria.This is why we want to change the narrative so that this country will be giant of Africa it used to be.
Also speaking, the Director of Work and Study Programme of Ebonyi State University, Rev. Odicha Ude lauded members of NIPR in Ebonyi State for their commitment and dedication in discharging their duties.He expressed happiness over the milestone, noting that NIPR is breaking new grounds and making themselves more visible because many people are getting to know about NIPR, and also becoming a house hold name in Ebonyi State.
` I feel excited and so happy because its a milestone. And thank God that NIPR is resurging. The new leadership are doing things that has not been done before and we are happy about that. They are breaking new grounds and making themselves more visible.Many people are getting to know about NIPR and it has been in existence in the past 60 years,but now, it is almost like a house hold name.I commend the present leadership and thank God for the initiative the have. Even with this noble concept of NIPR University.
