Governor Mai Mala Buni has reiterated his government’s commitment towards supporting entrepreneur acquisition of women and Youths in the state to reduce unemployment and poverty alleviation among women and Youths in the state.
The Governor stated this on Tuesday during the graduation ceremony of 200 women trained by the National Union of Yobe State Students National headquarters women affairs committee in collaboration with North East Youths initiative for empowerment women entrepreneurship scheme NUYOSS women empowerment and skills acquisition training for poverty eradication and self dependency.
” The Governor who was represented by the state deputy governor Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana said that, skills acquisition of women and Youths is necessary for sustainable development of the state and the Nation wide.
” Mai Mala Buni commended efforts of the organizers and call on other development partners to emulate the National Union of Yobe state Students National headquarter’s women affairs committee and North East Youths initiative for empowerment for the development of the state.
He stated that entrepreneur skills acquisition training is one of the key role factors contributing development in a country, adding that his Administration is committed to provide all necessary support the trainees to ensure that they train others.
Speaking at the event Comrade Dauda Muhammad Gombe said that the (NEYIF) as a partner in progress assured the gathering that they have been targeted two thousand women in the programme but now two hundred women are trained in various fields such as Bakery, beads-making,. incense, make-up, soap making among others for the first start and assured that the two thousand targeted beneficiaries would be train soon to their self-reliance.
Comrade Dauda has appealed for government support in such programmes so that the number of unemployment and poverty alleviation has been reduced in the state.
One of the committee members Hafsat Yusuf Ibrahim said, women entrepreneurship was design and organized by the women affairs committee of National Union of Yobe state Students National Headquarters Damaturu in collaboration with the North East Youths initiative for development ( NEYIF) to train two thousand women in the state on entrepreneurship development programme to make them self-reliance.
The aims and objectives of the programme is to support women educated or not educated, married or single to train them with entrepreneurship development programme for their self-reliance.
Hafsat Yusuf call on the state government to provide necessary support for the women committee National Union of Yobe State students to continue with the programme for the benefit of people of the state.
