Governor Abdull-Azeez Yari of Zamfara state has called on Muslims to unite and work in accordance with the teaching of Islam.
He made the call while declaring open1437 annual Ramadan tafsir organized by the Islamic Trust of Nigeria (ITN) Zaria.
Represented by Mala Ibrahim Wakala the Deputy Governor of the state, Yari said the committee that supervised the giant mosque project deserve commendation for their commitment towards seeing to the completion of the edifice.
Governor Yari called on all Muslims to use the Ramadan period to rededicate themselves in assisting the less previlaged in thr society.
In his remarks the Emir of Zazzau Alhaji Shehu Idris gave the assurance of his continued support to the development of ITN Mosque.
Represented by Alhaji Nuhu Aliyu, Galadiman Zazzau,the Emir expressed confidence in the committee that supervised the project asserting their commitment.
Earlier, in his address, the chairman ITN Mosque project committee and the Emir of Lere, Alhaji Garba Mohammed said the project began eight years ago.
Alhaji Garba called on wealthy Muslims to come forward and contribute their wealth towards promoting Islam in Nigeria.
Malam Salihu Abubakar commenced the Ramadan Tafsir with a call on Muslims to abide strictly by the teachings and guidance as contain in the Holy Qur’an and Hadith.
