Gov College Kaduna, Rimi Collage, SMC to Revert to Boarding Schools

Plans are in pipeline to revert Government College, Rimi College and Sardauna Memorial Collage, SMC to boarding schools, Adamu Mansir, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Kaduna State has said.
Adamu made the disclosure when he represented the state governor Mal. Nasir Ahmad el-rufai at the commissioning of classrooms built by the Tudun Wada Development Forum, TDF.
“In our next budget, we shall have Government College, Rimi Collage and Sardauna Memorial Collage to become fully boarding schools” he said.
He added that since Governor El-rufai’s inception as governor of the state, his cardinal principle is education, saying, at the beginning of this year, 2,000 teachers were recruited across the state and the concerned is more of science oriented teachers.
 
“More than 400 primary schools were renovated this year and more than 145 secondary schools including boarding schools were among those to be renovated and work is in progress,” Adamu said.
 
Also in his remarks, the chairman of the occasion, Alh Ahmed Tahir noted that the demand of the people of Tudun Wada was to pursue western education, adding that there was urgent need for all and sundry in the community to assist them.
 
He disclosed that in the past 20 years, the rate was about 20 – 30 percent, but now it has raisen to about 90 percent.
The Interim Management Committee Chairman of Kaduna South, Barr Sani Suleiman pledged that before the end of his tenure, he would ensure that all the primary schools in the area are be renovated.
 
He commended Governor El-rufai for all the necessary support and cooperation he has been giving them in all the sectors in the area.
 
The chairman then appealed to all the people of the area not to relent in their efforts towards cooperating with the state government especially in its quest to make Kaduna state great again.
 
Also in his remarks, the Chairman of the Forum, (Dr) Muh’d Suleiman said the Forum was established years back with the aimes and objectives geared towards the upliftment of the standard of education in the Tudun Wada community.
 
“We decided to build the class rooms so as to compliment Governor El-rufai’s effort and quest towards improving the standard of education, particularly primary school education” he stressed.
