Gov. Bello Commiserates With BOSG, Unimaid Over Twin-Blast, Air Strike

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has commiserated with the Borno state government over the recent twin bomb attacks at the University of Maiduguri as well as the accidental air strike by the Nigerian Air Force, NAF Jet at the Rann camp for internally displaced persons.
He said the two incidences were tragic but prayed God to grant all those killed in the incidence eternal rest.
He expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the University community, the families as well as people and government of Borno state over the incidents adding that the attack by suspected Boko Haram suicide bombers was ungodly, demonic and wicked act of aggression which can never be justified.
The Governor in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Jibrin Baba Ndace, noted that the University of Maiduguri which has been relatively peaceful in the recent past despite the countless attacks launched on its environs, had with the recent incident had its peace shattered.
Governor Bello enjoined the authorities of the university to step up security vigilance in and around the institution to guard against future occurrence just as he bemoaned the destruction of lives and property by faceless assailants.
The Governor recalled that despite the insurrections in the North East, the University last year had its 40th anniversary and combined convocation ceremony which attracted people from all works of life from within and outside the country.
The statement quoted Governor Bello as expressing his firm belief in the ongoing military actions against the insurgents in the whole of the north east even as he stressed that the fight against the insurgents was a collective responsibility of everyone.
He enjoined all citizens to support all efforts at routing the reactionary forces adding that Nigerians must not allow evil to triumph over good nor instability to interject the peace and harmony of any part of the country.
The statement appealed to citizens to be extra vigilant and to also assist security agencies with useful intelligence reports on locations, activities and plans of the enemy elements.
