Gov Amosun Commissions Home for Senior Citizens

A private owned facility aimed at providing shelter and care for elderly and senior citizens in the society has been commissioned by the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
Governor Amosun while commissioning the home along Sagamu /Abeokuta Expressway opined that it was significant as it would afford the aged the opportunity to access the needed care and attention.
The Governor noted that since government could not do it alone, it would continue to give necessary support to genuine initiatives to make living worthwhile for all and sundry.
On her part, the initiator of the project and the chairperson of Gloryland Trust International, Ms. Abimbola Johnson said the initiative among other things was targeted at the aged in the society to give them medical care and necessary attention that would enhance their longevity and to allay the boredom of old age.
In his goodwill message, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadedo posited that Senior Citizens deserve to have a decent living and peace of mind after attaining old age so as  not to be lonely, adding that the gesture should be emulated by all.
In their separate remarks, the Doyen of Accountancy in Nigeria, Akintola Williams and the First Military Governor of Lagos State, General Mobolaji Johnson (rtd) appreciated the innovation of Gloryland for creating a peaceful and serene environment adding that it would provide healthy life and companionship to the elderly.
