Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State is leading June 12 solidarity walk in commemoration of the 2024 Democracy Day Celebration.
In a statement by Bridget Tikyaa, Principal Assistant Media and Communication, the 2024 Democracy solidarity walk is put together by the National Democracy Stakeholders Group (NDSG).
According to the statement, the Democracy Day Solidarity Walk will take place concurrently across the 36 states of the federation and the FCT, Abuja.
The essence of the walk, she said according to NDSG, is to bring together citizens from all walks of life to celebrate the spirit of democracy and reflect on its enduring importance.
In Benue State, the Democracy Walk would be led by the governor, supported by his deputy, the Speaker of State House Assembly, the State Chief Judge, appointees and other esteemed citizens.
The walk is expected to commence at the main Gate of the Benue State Government House, Makurdi, on Wednesday, by 07:00am, and terminate at the IBB Square, Makurdi.
