The Interim Chairman of Jema’a Local Government, Dr Bege Katuka has confirmed the killing of six people in the Sunday night attack by suspected herdsmen in Golkofa village in Godogodo chiefdom, explaining in an interview in Kafanchan that the bodies of the deceased were recovered two kilometers away from the village.
Kaduna State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Aliyu Usman confirmed the incident while calling on the people to avoid isolated areas.
Katuka said a report was made to the security operatives Saturday night that six persons were missing in the village and upon search, their bodies were found in the bush Sunday evening.
He urged the people to desist from activities in isolated places especially given the volatile nature of the area.
“While the security continues to do its best, we urge the people to be security conscious and be vigilant,” he stressed.
The Chairman said the bodies of the dead persons have since been deposited at the morgue in General Hospital, Kafanchan while security operatives have been on continued surveillance in the area.
It could be recalled that eleven persons were killed two weeks ago during attacks by suspected  headsmen in Angwan Ayu, Ninte and Gada Biyu villages in Godogod chiefdom.
