The Sarkin Hausawa of Ibadanland, Alhaji Ahmed Dahiru Zungeru Sunday advised Nigerians to give room for harmonious inter-ethnic relationship to ensure enduring peace and progress in the country.
Alhaji Zungeru said this while speaking at the installation of a new Magajin Garin of Bodija International Food market and its environs, Alhaji Aminu Musa Abubakar II.
He stressed that the time has come for all Nigerian religious and group leaders to work assiduously with government in educating members of their various communities on the need for harmonious inter-ethnic relationship to ensure enduring peace and progress.
The Sarki maintained that doing this will go a long way in curbing the incessant terrorism and insurgency in some parts of the country thus saving the nascent democracy in the nation.
Alhaji Zungeru while emphasizing the need for continued cordial relationship between  the Arewa community in Bodija market and their host community, urged the newly-installed Magajin Gari to associate himself with all the known virtues of his late father, “more importantly, the spirit of togetherness, security, unity and harmonious coexistence which are preconditions for societal progress and development.”
Speaking, the new Magajin Garin Bodija and Environs, Alhaji Musa Abubakar II, said there will be no going back in his determination to maintain peace and concord at all times.
He solicited for the support of all and sundry in the market by giving him useful advice for peace and unity to continue to reign in Bodija market and its environs.
Highlight of the installation included cultural displays by Arewa traditional dancers and musicians who entertained the guests from far and near including Sarkin Hausawas from different parts of the South West as well as some Yoruba leaders.
