Give 2016 Federal budget a chance – Senator Enoh
By; Vitalis Ugoh, Calabar .
Senator representing the Central Senatorial District of Cross River State, John Owan Enoh, has appealed to Nigerians irrespective of their  political party to give the 2016 Federal budget a chance to succeed.
He made the call while fielding questions from newsmen in Calabar during a media parley organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Cross River council.
Enoh, said by so doing, the operators of the budget proposal would be able to ensure that all the estimates, assumptions and parameters were all realized through proper disciplinary processes.
He declared “I do not think my position on the budget should be partisan as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I am a Nigerian representing the interest of Nigerian masses out there in our various constituencies and if the budget works, it worked for Nigerians and not the political party you belonged”.
According to him “in all fairness we can all give it a chance to work and succeed. Every budget remains a proposal. For me I do not think we should judge the budget. We must give it a chance to work”.
He advised politicians to see the outcome of the last election as a bye-gone issue and work as a team to be able to deliver the dividend of democracy to Nigerians. The Nigerian nation is greater and bigger than individual interests.
On the relationship between him and the former Senate leader, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba, he said, “I think we have a good relationship. The elections are over. The person that won the election should be the one that should have a larger heart. Without any prejudice that I ran against him during the last general elections, that does not affect how much respect that I had and I still have for him. Without going into much detail, I just wish to assure you that we have very good cordial relationship”.
He said as representative of his people he would not disappoint them in any way.  “I will continue to do my legislative work that is sponsoring of bills that will touch the lives of Nigerians economically and socially. I was elected not to play politics with my people. I guess a lot has happened in my constituency within the past 7 months. I have organized a treat with my staff, held my thanksgiving service as well as ordering the cleaning up of Ikom town and repairs of urban roads just to mention but a few”.
