Ghost workers: OSSG to verify workers on payroll

Osun State Government has ordered all the civil servants on her payroll to provide necessary information to prove that they are still genuine workers with the government.
New Nigerian gathered that the order was handed down to the civil servants in a government circular with Ref. No. AD. 2 /405/7 signed by the State Minister of Finance Permanent Secretary.
In the circular, all the workers were mandated to fill the prescribed form stating their name, Ministry or Agency, CHAMS Staff I.D. no, telephone No, name of bank and a print out of their Bank Verification Number (BVN) which should be gotten from their banks.
According to the circular, “all completed forms should be forwarded to the Ministry of Finance not later than Wednesday 24th February, 2016” and that “returns from Local Government areas should be collated on Local Government Area basis by the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, Water Resources, Rural and Community Affairs”;
It added that “returns from all tertiary institutions should be collated by  the Office of Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology; Returns from Elementary and Middle Schools should be collated on Local Government Area basis by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) while Returns from High Schools should be collated by the respective Education Districts”.
The government maintained in the circular that “all completed forms are to be submitted with a covering letter personally endorsed by the Accounting Officer of each Ministry or Agency and should be addressed to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Osogbo”.
