The Labour Party (LP) candidate for the Sanga State Constituency in the 2023 general election, Hon Benjamin Sarki has said that his strong conviction towards effecting a positive change and impact on the lives of the good people of Sanga Local Government Area is what informed his decision to resign from the services of the Nigerian Police to contest and represent his constituency at the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
The Labour Party candidate who lamented the poor representation for the people of Sanga at both state and the federal levels, also promised to leave no stone unturned towards harnessing the huge potentials deposited in the area, stressing that Sanga desires positive change from the old order of mediocrity and sectionalism.
Speaking to journalists in Kaduna, Mr. Benjamin Sarki noted that his solemn belief is on the ability of the youth in Sanga to take their destinies in their hands by shunning politics of religion and ethnicity, adding that the time to get it right is now.
According to the Sanga House of Assembly hopeful, “Labour Party is formidable and ready to establish people’s oriented policies and programmes geared towards ameliorating the suffering of the downtrodden,” this he added, would be implemented through an all inclusive and open door articulated periodic engagement with the electorate when given the mandate.
Mr Benjamin Sarki also posited that ordinarily, “I wouldn’t have taken the risk to resign from the Nigerian Police, but I took the bold step in line with the clarion and persistent advocacy on the need to change the political narrative in Sanga.
The youth are constantly being shortchanged, used and dumped as political thugs and praise singers. “Why should that be our fate?” he thundered.
Meanwhile, among the various candidates for the Sanga State Assembly office, Mr. Benjamin Sarki stands a bright chance, considering the political journey and track records of the other contestants.
A constituent in his reaction to the development, said, ” In the final analysis, Mr. Benjamin Sarki’s wise decision and triumphant entry into the murky waters of Sanga politics is one great step that should not be wished away by all patriotic and peace loving people of Sanga. In fact, his candidature should be greeted with support and a clear mandate in 2023.
“Benjamin Sarki possess the unique traits of humility, empathy, meekness and the capacity to lead. Young and vibrant with a national certificate in education (NCE) from the Kaduna state college of education Gidan-waya and a degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from a private university, the Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu.
“Hon Benjamin Sarki is loved by many especially the youth and other vulnerable groups due to his simplicity and respect for all and sundry,” he said.
