Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Stone Wall Hall and Event Centre‎, Brigadier General Mohammed Kabiru Galadanci (rtd) has condemned those kicking against the setting up of a film village in Kano as enemy of job creation in the state.
According to him, those kicking against the establishment of the film village are not looking at the positive side of the project but only the negative aspect of it.
Galadanci expressed this while interacting with newsmen at his business premises, Stone Wall Hall and Event Centre, Barkallahu, Kaduna.
He said that they should have instead suggested ways in which the actors and actresses can be managed positively, away from producing movies that will cause decadence in the society.
“In my own opinion, they did not sit down to look critically at how the film village can positively educate our people and create job. If you go to the homes of those against the film village, don’t be surprised to see their daughters feasting on Nigerian movies all the day.
“The first movie that educated Muslims on the life and times of Prophet Mohammed was not even acted by Muslims, but has over the years, educated billions of Muslim faithful the world over” he said.
The retired General said that because he believes that movies can contribute positively to the society, he has made provision for a one-stop mini movie village at the Stone Wall, where directors can have full control of their movie production at the same location.
“We have a hall that can sit 1, 200 at least, we have vehicles that can be used on location and we have a lodge that contains rooms, kitchen and basically all the space you would be needing for a scene to depict a location in Europe, Dubai or even Barkallahu in Kaduna,” he added.
