Did I say General El-rufai? Yes; it was not a mistake, it is deliberate and fictionally factual. Of cause I know that there was a General rufai in the family and not Na’asiru (apologies to Baba Iyabo).
Nasir would not have been a good soldier because he only fight with his mouth, he can’t slap talk less of punching, not to talk of kick boxing or taekwando. In fact, he can only beat you from behind and run away as a revenge. If you are in doubt, ask his school mate way back in Kawo.
If you can’t find him, simply go and read Accidental Public Servant for details. El-rufai no fit do soldier work. In fact, him no fit do Police work like him paddy Nuhu Ribadu; that fearless Fulbe who once slapped an arm robber who snatched their car.
But if you see KASTELEA (Kaduna State Traffic and Environmental Law Enforcement Agency), just remember say the Governor na Major General, him Deputy Banabas Bala Yusuf aka Bantex is a Colonel. And his Chief of Staff (no be Supreme Headquarters o), Hadiza Bala Usman (Junior CoS, the senior na Hadiza El-rufai) na Major.
If you are in doubt of this ranks, please get the images of the day the Marshals of the KASTELEA were inducted at Murtala Square, Kaduna. Those were the ranks worn by these men of timber and caterpillar (apologies to late Mbadiwe) and Hadiza stood tall up and above them with her junior rank of Major.
After cutting the tape to officially unveil the vehicles, this reporter asked the Governor; “Your excellency, what is your rank?” And his response was “I don’t know o, they just gave the uniform to wear just like that”.
So, who “ranked” them abeg? Like late General Abdulkareem Adisa once asked, while he was Minister of works; “who build that gada”? (pointing at a bridge).
This column has survived three landlords of Sir Kashim Ibrahim House; Arc. Muhammed Namadi Sambo, Late Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa and Dalatun Zazzau, Alhaji Muktar Ramalan Yero.
The best of moments for this column was the Yakowa era. This is because the Governor then never missed it. Unknown to me, he had followed it weekly as Deputy Governor, just same as some members of his family.
Same with Yero. But I had to rest the column during same Yero’s administration as the paper went under then. But here we are in a better, bigger and faster way. Here we are with Malam Nasir Ahmad El-rufai as the landlord.
Today he marks one year in office since assuming the mantle of leadership as the fifth democratically elected Governor since return to civil rule in 1999. 5th Governor at 55, one less than 56, the official plate number of Nasir Mantu as the Deputy Senate President when he allegedly demanded for 56 million naira to clear Nasir El-rufai as the FCT Minister.
Hmm, tory plenty o, if na El-rufai, so keep a date with us every sunday to enjoy this column. It is all about sidelines of happenings inside Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna.
To all the great fans of this column, prominent among them is General Ibrahim Sabo (rtd), former DMI boss, Ambassador Sule Buba, the Yakowas, the Yeros, the Hayabs, especially the former Head of Service, the Dikkos et all, here we are again under canji.

During the flag off and commissioning of El-rufai yellow taxis, along with the painted Kia Rios were Peugeot 301 which the Governor said were less in number because they were more expensive than the Kia.
Since Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Jagaba of Borgu commissioned those taxis, only few of the Kias are visible on our roads. Where are the Peugeot? Na only ask I de ask o.
