GEJ’s aide, others decamped to APC in Ondo State
By; Odeyemi Samuel, Akure.
Mr. Oluremi Akinbobola, a former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan and some other top members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State have decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This came barely few days  aftert the former Senator that represented Ondo Central Senatorial District, Mr Ayo Akinyelure and the Director, Technical Aids Corps, Dr. Pius Osunyikanmi defected to the same APC.
Akinbola who is a Federal Commissioner in the National Population Commission said he and other former members of the PDP decided to join the APC so as to join President Muhammadu Buhari in moving the country forward.
According to him, it is important to join the train of change in the country and be a part of the government that is poised to change the life of the masses.
He said, “we want to ensure that we join hands with our leaders, in the local government and in Nigeria at large. The National Vice Chairman of APC is our brother in Idanre, so we have to join hands with them.
“And we also want to join hands to ensure that, as a federal commissioner, even though I was not appointed by this present administration, join the President to move this country forward. I have seen what the President has been doing since he came into power, especially his plan for 2016 to ensure that our youths are gainfully employed and curb corruption”.
Welcoming the defectors, the National Vice Chairman of the party, Chief Pius Akinyelure urged them to have total loyalty for the party, charging them  to continue preaching the gospel of the APC and the change agenda to the people of  the state.
Earlier, the Chairman of the party in the state, Mr  Isaac Kekemeke said the APC had become a big party in the state.
He said it was sure that the party would win the next governorship election, giving assurance that the party would conduct a transparent primary.
“As many people who wants to be Governor, go to the field, under my leadership, with the instruction from the  National Vice Chairman, there will be transparent primaries”  Kekemeke said.
The event had prominent members of the APC in the state in attendance, among them Chief Pius Akiyelure,  the Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs,  Professor Cladius Daramola,  former Deputy Governor of the state,  Alhaji Ali Olanusi,  former Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Chief Olusola Oke,  Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, the state chairman of the party in the state and his deputy, Mr Isaac Kekemeke among others.
