Gamji Pips Gunners to lift Kaduna Sports Commissioners Cup

Gamji FA piped Gunners FC 1-0 to emerge winners of the maiden edition of the Kaduna Commissioner of Sports Champions of Champions Cup in the final decided at the Kaduna Township Stadium on Saturday.
After both teams played a barren first half in spite of brilliant efforts that were not converted into goals , Gamji were awarded a penalty in the early hours of the second half which was converted to put them a goal ahead.
A goal drought was witnessed for the remaining part of the tension soaked match which saw supporters of both teams who are from Tudun Wada locality in Kaduna metropolis through anxious moments.
Speaking after the match, coach of the winning team, Sanusi Abubakar, popularly known as Tigana praised his boys for winning the trophy.
He said they were happy they beat their opponents, because in two prior clashes, they lost to the same team.
He said he was happy that his boys played according to instructions, adding that they would not rest on their oars, but would train harder to come out tops in future competitions.
On his part, coach of the runners-up, Aliyu Mohammed Musa, blamed their loss on ill luck.
He said his team were the better side all through the game, but were unlucky and lost several chances.
Musa said the officiating was free and fair, assuring their fans that they would not let them down next time.
