Series of reactions are currently unfolding following the promise Nigeria’s President Mohammadu Buhari made to Ghanian President Akufo-Addo to help the latter fight corruption on his invitation to Ghana.
It would be recalled that President Buhari was was in Ghana on Monday as a Special Guest of Honour on the occasion of Ghana’s 61st Independence Anniversary held at the Black Star in Accra.
While delivering his speech,as the Special Guest of Honour,President Buhari of Nigeria promised President Akufo-Addo of Ghana to help him fight corruption after applauding the Ghanian President.
” I congratulate you on your efforts to fight corruption which has eaten into the public fibre…Your Excellency,I can assure you that you have a good partner in me in tackling endemic corruption,” President Buhari said.
It is in the aforementioned effort to assist Ghana fight corruption that many compatriots became infuriated.
In their reactions, many Ghanaians lambasted Buhari,warning him to leave Ghana with his people(Nigerians)-whom the believe have heightened corruption in Ghana.
They proceeded further and warned him not to bring snakes and monkeys to swallow Ghana’s money.
