Despite repeated assurances of providing enough petroleum product by the federal government, fuel scarcity persists and biting harder in Taraba State and environs.
Investigations by our reporter revealed only few fuel stations have petrol supply in Jalingo the state capital.
There was long queue in the filling stations that sold fuel where motorists spent days to get supply.
Outside the state capital, all fuel stations sold fuel between N190 to N200 per litre while black marketers sold a 4liter gallon at the cost of N1000.
Some Filling station owners in the state were accused of diverting the commodity to black markets.
A motorist, Mallam Ibrahim Tanko said it is sad to note that almost all the filling stations in the state capital have no supply while stations outside the state capital have supply all the time.
He said the situation was caused by unpatriotic fuel dealers who diverted their supply to black market for easy money and higher profit at the detriment of the suffering public.
