Fuel price: TUC, NLC orders shut down of offices, shops and markets in Oyo state

The Organised Labour in Oyo State Monday alerted the people of the state particularly the civil servants to be ready for a total shut down of offices, shops and markets in and across the state in protest against the N145 new petrol price.
Addressing an emergency meeting at the Oyo NLC Secretariat in Ibadan, leaders of the trade unions advised the workers, traders, market men and women to as from Wednesday, 18th May join the struggle by either staying indoor or come out for the mass rally against  the increase in price of petroleum.
Speaking, the Oyo State NLC Chairman, Comrade Waheed  Olojede said the mass rally was ordered by the NLC National secretariat which should be carried out across the country “to kick against the new price of Petrol”.
The state TUC Secretary, Comrade Ali Adeolu in his remark, said the recent increase in the price of petrol is anti-human which the civil servants, traders and the artisans must team up to join to resist by supporting the fight against the anti-people policy.
Oyo State Coordinator of Joint Action Front, (JAF), Dr Demola Aremu while addressing the meeting, declared that the recent government policies are causing further depreciation of the naira and the economy as a whole.
He urged Nigerian masses to support the organised Labour in the struggle to end the sufferings created by the hardship.
