FUDMA Matriculates 6,012 Students

No fewer than 6,012 students out of more than 10,000 candidates applied in Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) Katsina State have been admitted into various departments in their respective faculties for 2022/2023 academic session.

However, the University’s Senate approved Automatic employment for its Students graduate with  first class honours degree. 

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Malam Habibu Umar said the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi made the disclosure during “FUDMA 11th Matriculation ceremony on Monday, May 8,2023 in Dutsin- Ma.”

Professor Hamisu Bichi while sharing the joys with the new students assured that, the university was configured to produce excellent graduates that would transform future societies and demonstrate competitive posture among Nigeria Universities. 

Professor Bichi reiterated that, the University placed unwavering attention and focus on academic excellence through effective teaching and learning environment. 

He emphasized that, to encourage students to cultivate their potentialities to the fullest, the Senate of FUDMA has also approved the following:- Students who scored a CGPA of 4.50 and above at the end of any academic year are crowned the University Scholars and are placed on the VC’s honours list of academic excellent with some privileges.

He said for those who earned a CGPA 4.00-4.49 at the end of every academic year would have their names appear on the Dean’s list of academic year and shall receive a book allowance.

Whereas, Professor Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi said “Student that graduate with First Class honours degree at the end of his/her studies in FUDMA would be offered automatic employment by the University Council.”

“To serve as an executive member of any registered society or association whether Academic, religious, Cultural or Social, a Student must have a minimum CGPA of 3.00.” the VC said.

Professor Bichi stressed that, FUDMA would do everything possible to make the new students stay in the school enjoyable and creative for future challenges.

He noted that, University and its host community exists on accepted values cherished all over the world and students need to conduct their daily activities within the accepted laws and regulations.

Professor Bichi warned that,  “There are anti-social behaviours, the University will not condone from any student, no matter the level of his study. As the University rewards a hard-working student on his last day with us, so also we punish, within the laws, someone who breaks the laws on he/her departing day.”

Professor Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi advised the new students to be  aware of the security challenges in the country  and urged them  to be security conscious and cooperate fully with the University by obeying basic security tips that may be released from time to time.
