FTF Contract Farming Policy Engagement Held In Kaduna, Chief Of Party Optimistic Of Success

A one-day Stakeholders Engagement on the Kaduna State Contract Farming Policy has been held in Kaduna.
The Stakeholders Engagement, in collaboration with the Kaduna State Ministry of Agriculture, was organized by the Feed The Future (FTF) NIgeria Agribusiness Investment Activity.

In his welcome address, the Chief of Party and Managing Director FTF NIgeria Agribusiness Investment Activity, Dominic Graham said that  the activity was launched in 2020 to enhance business environment and increase finance and investment into agriculture.

Represented by the Director Policy and Enabling Environment, FTF NIgeria Agribusiness Investment Activity, James Ebuetse,  the Chief of Party said they are also focused on enhancing finance in the business to increase competitiveness.
“Kaduna State in its wisdom has decided to develop a draft policy to serve as reference policy for users of contract farming policy to enable sustainable environment for contract farming.
“We look at what has been done and challenges and suggest the way forward. Let us have your comments so we can present to the Kaduna State Government. 
“We solicit your efforts so that at the end of the day we can have a sound contract farming document that can compete on the continent. Feel free to give it to us so we can amend the documents according to your desire. On behalf of the Chief of Party, I welcome you to this event,” he said.

Some of the notable dignitaries spotted at the engagement included the Commissioner Kaduna State Ministry of Agriculture, Ibrahim G. Hussaini and the Kaduna State Agribusiness Manager, Feed The Future (FTF) NIgeria Agribusiness Investment Activity, Opeoluwa Fayomi.

The engagement  witnessed the presentation of the Draft Kaduna State Contract Farming Policy by the FTF NIgeria Agribusiness Investment Activity
