A fresh online survey has again, projected Sen Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani as the possible winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Adamawa State.

Binani who is the lone female candidate in the contest, is set to upset the power of incumbency in an election which promises to be a game changer in the political history of the state.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer is projected  to emerge winner of the male dominated contest with a wide margin.

The election of Binani as the first governorship candidate of a major political party in Adamawa has brought in new political dynamics, forcing the governor to fire his deputy and appoint a female university don, Professor Kelatapwa Farauta as his running mate.

The governorship candidate in another feat of exceptional popularity, drew large organic crowd in all the places she visited during her campaign  across the 21 local government areas of the state.

Such exuberant display of love for Binani who carved a niche for herself in philanthropy and leadership excellence, became the hallmark of her grilling campaign,  making the governor to adopt new and drastic measures to contain her swelling popularity, including proscription of NGOs in the state.

An outcome of a six month online survey compiled by the Internet and IT professionals of Nigeria (IITN) placed Binani as the winner of the polls with an overwhelming margin of 65%, while Fintiri emerged the first runner up with 25%  as other political parties coasted  home with 10%.

In conducting the poll, IITN employed the services of independent and seasoned data analysts, with indepth knowledge of online resources to obtain data on the preferences of the electorate.

The organization also used a two way web platform to ensure the security, integrity and safety of the data collected.

The survey was also conducted in major languages of Adamawa including English, Hausa and Fulfulde to enhance comprehension and understanding of the content of the questionnaires.

Over 150,000 questionnaires where sent to the various respondents out of which 98,000 responses were obtained.

The summary of the polls favoured Binani who scored a total of 63,700 while Fintiri trailed at a distant 24,500 while other political parties got 9,800.

Leader of the IITN team who conducted the polls, Mr. Vincent Olu noted that all the major statistical online sampling tools to ensure the spread of the polls including Google maps were deployed to ensure the potency and precision of the results.

Olu noted that the outcome of the survey is indicative of the fact that a clear winner will emerge at the first polls, adding that the election will not stretch to rerun which happened in 2019.
