Governor Mohammed Abubakar has reechoed the need for President Muhammadu Buhari to disregard the criticisms of those he described as enemies of progress and continue the foreign trips in order to actualize the dream of attracting investors, increasing the revenue base of Nigeria and getting the nation back on track of national development as promised during campaigns.
The Governor who stated this while receiving members of the Bauchi Teachers’ College Old Students Association on a courtesy visit in Bauchi, regretted that those criticizing the President were not heard when the life of the nation was on line facing security, economic and social crises but only overnight became vocal after seeing the remarkable progress being made by his administration for the country to reclaim its rightful place in the comity of nations.
While commending the President for being focused on the agenda of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Mohammed Abubakar said “President Muhammadu Buhari must travel out of Nigeria in order to get the nation out of the woods, assure its future by attracting the best brains that left the country and foreign investors regardless of what the opposition is saying.
“It only took someone to leak to the press that President Muhammadu Buhari was going to meet with the leaders of Saudi and Qatar for oil prices at the international markets to go up. If this singular act will raise the revenue base of the nation through the increase in petroleum price, what else we can say of those asking the President not to go out”, the Governor queried.
Abubakar explained that it was only through the prudent management style of the President and his ensuring that everyone accounts for whatever is under them that he was able to save more than three quarters of the money needed to execute the 2016 budget.
