A Zaria based businessman, Alhaji Ya’u Adamu Danfulani has advised journalists to focus their reporting on issues that has to do with grassroot development.
He gave the advise at the launching of an appeal fund of N20m for Taskira Newspaper, a Hausa media outfut in Zaria at the weekend.
Alh. Danfulani said, only objective reporting will maintain the integrity of the journalism professional.
According to him, now that community needs the services of media, it can objectively serve the community.
Also in his remarks, Alhaji Haruna Ismail a businessman from Kano lamented the way and manner Hausa newspapers are dying in silence due to non patronage.
He called on individuals to support Hausa newspapers to meet the global challenges by competing with the world media.
Earlier in his address, the Editor Taskira Newspaper, Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar Kajuru said publishing a newspaper is not an easy business but with the support of government and public through placing of their adverts, the problem will be overcome.
Mustapha Kajuru also said the management of the newspaper had concluded all the necessary arrangements to begin a weekly publication as against the fortnightly publication.
More than one million naira was realised at the lunching.
