Flood: Tinubu Visits Jigawa, Donates Generously

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate for 2023 presidential elections, Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid a one-day visit to Jigawa State purposely to commiserate with the government and people of the state over the devastating flooding.

Speaking while on a courtesy visit on the Emir of Hadejia, who is also Chairman Council of Chiefs, His Royal Highness, Alh. Adamu Abubakar Maje, he  said,  “Your Highness, I deemed it fit to come personally to console with our traditional fathers, the government, among others, over the natural calamities which causes serious defeat on our populace.

“My visitation to Jigawa isn’t  political, rather to console with our Jigawa people, as It is the tradition of the APC national leaders to show sympathy to people affected by disasters or unfortunate incidents.

Responding, the Emir of Hadejia, Alh. Adamu Abubakar Maje commended Tinubu for the gesture and called on wealthy individuals, corporate bodies for more support as people lost heavily to the flooding.

” I assure His Excellency, Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that all that was donated will be judiciously distributed to the affected victim’s accordingly”

Earlier in his remarks, Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State commended Tinubu for the great gesture and handed over the donation made to the Emir of Hadejia, Alh Adamu Maje being the Chairman State  Council of Chiefs to ensure equity, just and social justice.

Earlier, Tinubu sympathised with victims of Jigawa flood,  as well as  mourned the death of 51 people.

In a condolence message to Governor Badaru through his Media Officer, Tunde Rahman, the  

Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,  mourned the 51 people who lost their lives in the recent flooding that occurred in Jigawa State. 

Many communities across the state were affected and four local governments were badly hit by the flood caused by heavy rainfall rendering hundreds homeless and killing 51 people.

The former Lagos State Governor hoped for a speedy recovery for all the injured. He assured Governor Badaru of his readiness to stand with him and the people of the state as they rebuild.

Tinubu encouraged everyone to remain strong even in the face of the challenges they are currently facing.

“Particularly saddening is the revelation that the flood claimed 51 precious lives and destroyed valuable properties. Please accept my sympathy and condolences over this sad and unfortunate incident, and the lives lost,” he said.
