Flood: NEMA North West Embarks On Sensitization To Kaduna North, South

In continuation of the flood sensitization and awareness campaign, Staff of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Northwest Zonal Office in collaboration with critical stakeholders in disaster management, held a senstization and awareness rally in communities of Kaduna North and Kaduna South LGAs. 


During the sensitization on Tuesday September 21, the team paid advocacy visit to the community leaders, visited the neighborhood markets in the communities and inspected the drainages and interacted with members of the communities. 
Discussions focussed  on flood preventive and mitigative measures and other environmental related emergencies and consequences.
Stakeholders present included Kaduna SEMA, Nigerian Red Cross, Safety and Environmental Support Initiative (SAESI) and State Fire Service, Kaduna State Urban and Regional planning.

Ayuba Jibrin, Chairman Bakin Rafi at Rafin Guza appreciated the efforts of the stakeholders.
He mentioned that this was not the first time the team is visiting their community and they have benefitted alot from each visit. 
He further  appealed to the Government to provide them with modern boats to ferry the populace across the river to various communities.

Mai Unguwan Kinkanau,  Abdulkarim Yau,  appreciated the team for the relentless efforts in ensuring they sensitize the public of impending hazards.
