The Katsina State House of Assembly Committee on Environment and Relief Agency has embarked on oversight visit to projects executed by the state ministry of environment.
       
Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Yakubu Sulaiman Tsanni explained that such efforts if sustained, flooding and other ecological problems would be a history in the near future.
       
Alhaji Yakubu Sulaiman Tsanni who led other members of the committee advised beneficiaries of the projects to safeguard them through constant evacuation of refuse and general maintenance.
       
The lawmaker however, decried the attitude of some benefiting communities where they remove pebbles and earth filling erected to protect drainages from collapse.
       
Alhaji Tsanni expressed satisfaction on the quality of work carried out by the ministry and advised the state government to sustain the current tempo in addressing ecological problems.
      
  In a remark, the Project Engineer in the ministry, Ashiru Mohammed said most of the projects would be completed next month and constant monitoring was been carried out by the ministry.
The committee visited Mashi, Dutsi, Mai’adua, Daura, Sandamu, Bindawa and Mani local government areas.
