Five-day Training On Livestock Trading In West Africa Opens In Katsina

A five-day training on Content of Livestock Trading in West Africa has been opened for pastoralists and agro-pastoralist communities in Katsina State.
The training taking place in Mai’adua Local Government Secretariat, was opened by the Special Adviser on Livestock and Grazing Reserves, Dr. Lawal Usman Bagiwa.
The five-day training which was organized by Association of Promoters of Livestock Production in Sahel Savannah, supported by the Katsina State Government, was attended by pastoralists and agro pastoralists from across the state.
Declaring open the training, the Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Bello Masari on Livestock and Grazing Reserves, Dr. Lawal Usman Bagiwa thanked the organizers for the training.
 He said the Masari-led administration would continue improving grazing reserves in the state for economic development.
The Special Adviser called on the participants to make good use of knowledge acquired during the training for the attainment of the desired goal.
He re-stated the determination of government to continue supporting any moves aimed at ensuring peace and unity amongst farmers and herdsmen.
The Project Manager, Alhaji Aliyu Ardo said a grazing reserve has been initiated from Maludu in Niger Republic to Dutsi Local Government Area in Nigeria, under the project.
“This is  in addition to construction of boreholes and offices, three gates and other projects in Mai’adua Market,” he said.
Other speakers at the occasion includes the state chairman of Association of Promoters of Livestock Production in Sahel Savannah, Alhaji Sani Aliyu Mashi and the representative of Mai’adua Head of Local Government Administration.
Facilitators of the training, Tukur Abdullahi, Kabir Ali Baba, Hamisu Maigari and Babangida Sani assured of imparting sound  knowledge on livestock trading in West Africa.
