The North West All Progressives Congress (APC) Unity and Reconciliation Forum has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Minister of State Defense, Bello Mohammed Matawalle for their efforts in addressing insecurity in the zone.
The Coordinator North West APC Reconciliation Forum, Comrade Bello Muazu Sokoto expressed this in a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau on Friday.
Bello Sokoto described the appointment of Bello Matawalle as Minister of State Defense as timely, particularly with the recent success recorded in the ongoing fight against banditry in the North West area.
According to him, the Minister of State Defense is coordinating the fight against bandits on behalf of the President Tinubu who is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu being the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has right to delegate and give directive to any of his ministers to undertake any assignments on his behalf such constitutional right was the reason that minister of State defence and all service chief were sent on a mission to fight and defeat the bandits recently in the North West zone.”
He opined that, those criticising against Matawalle on the mission to end banditry in the North West is purely political stressing that there is an improvement in the fight against banditry in the North West area.
He maintained that the North West APC reconciliation forum has concluded arrangement for a one day lecture and presentation of an award to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and minister of defense for their outstanding performance resilience in the fight against insecurity in the North West zone.
” We have made all necessary arrangements to honour our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on 5th of October at Area House Kaduna by God grace and present a letter to him on the 6th of October to show our appreciation to his exemplary leadership”.
