Fidelity Bank lift 2016 Kaduna Corporate League Trophy

Fidelity Bank have emerged winners of the 8th edition of the Kaduna Corporate League Cup with a 2-0 win over First City Monument Bank (FCMB).
The final match which was played at Ahmadu Bello Stadium saw both teams coming into the game with a lot of vigour after a heavy down pour.
Fidelity got their first goal in the 25th minute through Friday Mboli, while the second goal came through Mike Emeje.
With this victory, Fidelity Bank have won the cup for keeps having won the 2012 and 2013 edition.
Unity Bank had won the first trophy in 2011 for keeps after Skye bank won the first edition in 2008.
In the third place match, UBA defeated GTBank 2-1. Peter Daniel and Boniface scored for UBA, while Peter Otutu scored for GTBank. Skye bank placed 5th and Bank of Agriculture came 6th in the tournament.
Various prices where awarded. The Best Goalkeeper Award went to Samuel Ughin of Fidelity Bank, Best Defender went to Aminu Zakari of GTBank, Best Midfielder was claimed by Friday Mboli of Fidelity, Highest Goalscorer went to Peter Daniel of UBA with five goals, Victor Ojimiri  of FCMB finished as the Most Valuable Player, while the Best Coach went to Ango of Fidelity.
The Chief Organizer and Executive Director of Bestworth Insurance Brokers, Vincent Akinbami said that this year’s tournament was filled with glamour all through the group matches to the final day, promising a better edition next year, which is expected to attract more banks.
The special guest of the closing ceremony, Kaduna State Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Daniel Danauta represented by his Special Adviser on Sports and NGOs, Malam Mohammed Mukthar said it was fun watching staff of banks playing and watching football, promising that the ministry will support  the next edition.
