FG to train 250,000 youths on hardware, software, animation

The Federal Government has disclosed that it would train 25, 000 youths on Information Communication Technology (ICT) as a means of providing job opportunities for the teeming youth.
The Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo gave the disclosure while delivering the Second Foundation Lecture of Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo state entitled “The Future is here earlier than we thought”.
He said the current situation in the country does not allow monolithic career and however charged the youths to be multi-skilled experts.
The Vice President also hinted that the Federal Government has put machinery in motion to curtail the activities of Niger/Delta Avengers.
He said members of the Niger/Delta Avengers are not fighting for the interest of their region, but after their selfish interest, saying, this was responsible for the Federal Government’s decision not to dialogue with them.
Osinbajo stressed that President Muhammadu Buhari led administration was prepared to develop the Niger/Delta region, stressing that the recent cleaning of Ogoni land showed the commitment of Buhari’s administration to the development of the Niger/Delta region.
He insisted that the abandonment of the Niger/Delta region by the previous administrations was responsible for the poor development of the region and declared that the Federal Government has concluded arrangements to tackle the menace of pipeline vandalism in the Niger/Delta region.
The Vice President who condemned the activities of Niger Delta Avengers who claimed responsibility for the vandalization of petroleum pipelines in the Niger Delta region, said the previous government neglected the region for several years, hence the current challenges in the region.
Osinbajo while speaking at the event which was attended by Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, Olubadan of Ibadan Oba Saliu Adetunji, Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom Oba Victor Kiladejo, Deji of Akure Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, top government officials among others however identified corruption as the bane of development in the country, stressing that no country could survive with stealing.
“Corruption brought Nigeria to this present situation we find ourselves. It will be difficult for any country to survive with the kind of stealing that had taken place in Nigeri. Our decision to fight corruption in this country is aimed at bringing back the lost glory of the country and gives the country a new identity before the international community” he stressed.
In his own short remarks, Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko called for the restructuring of the country, stressing that the future of the country is threatened by the current economic challenges in the country.
Mimiko who made case for a true federal system of government in the country, maintained that restructuring of the country remains the only key to the nation’s prosperity.
Also speaking, the founder of the institution, Chief Michael Adeojo said the aims and objectives of the institution was to make different among other private universities in Nigeria stressing that the institution has zero tolerance for drug abuse and inculcate good behaviour among students.
Adeojo however hinted that the management of the institution has named the Faculty of Law Building under construction after the Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo when completed.
