Federal College of Animal Health, Production Tech Committed To Empowering Nigerians – Provost

The Provost of the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Tech , Ibadan, Dr A.O Owosibo  has disclosed that the College is committed to empowering the youths, women and other members of the public in areas of attaining food security in Nigeria and creation of wealth.
Dr Owosibo stated this while speaking at the opening of a training themed ” Youth in Agriculture : Vocational training and empowerment of unemployed youths in Poultry production and associated value chain holding at the College.
Represented by Dr Mrs Ogunleke, the Provost pointed out that ” Poultry business is one of the common agricultural enterprises in Africa and most especially in Nigeria and chicken is the most popular type of poultry reared for eggs and table meat reared in urban, peri-urban and rural areas of Nigeria.”
The Provost said the ” mandate of the College is to train middle level manpower  in certificate courses, Short and Long Term Trainings e.g Regular Vocational Trainings And Empowerment, Award Of National Diploma And Higher National Diploma.” and that the College has been involved in various Vocational Training

” With the College in this part of the country farmers, students and interested Nigerians pass through the College Trainings, Veterinary Services and Consultancy Services. The mandate of the College is to train middle level manpower  in certificate courses, Short and Long Term Trainings e.g Regular Vocational Trainings And Empowerment, Award Of National Diploma And Higher National Diploma. The College has been involved in various Vocational Training”, she said
Dr Owosibo added, “the tittle for this year training is ‘’Youth In Agriculture; Vocational Training And Empowerment Of Unemployed Youths In Poultry Production And Associated Value Chain” 
According to the Provost, ” the Youths will be trained in the College and Empowered with the following items;Broiler birdsBags of broiler starters and broiler finishers, Antibiotics and vitamins. 
” At the end of the training, the vision of the College on Poultry Production  for Wealth creation, income generation, Reduction of unemployment, Reduction / eradication of importation of poultry products and Shifting Nigeria from being mono-product economy would be achieved.”
Speaking , the representative of Emraj Global Services limited while welcoming the participants said poultry products (eggs and chicken) are in high demand, hence the poultry industry is a thriving sector of livestock production enterprise. 
He highlighted the various opportunities in the poultry production industry to include, production, processing, and marketing.
