Federal University Gusau Admits 1,425, Expels 15

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University Gusau (FUGUS), Prof. Magaji Garba has warned students of the institution to be focused as the institution will not hesitate to expel  any one found culpable.

Garba gave the warning at the 2017/2018 matriculation ceremony held at the university premise in Gusau.

The Vice Chancellor said the university will continue to uphold the founding principle of making the institution citadel of academic excellence.

“About 15 students were expelled during last academic session and the university will will continue to ensure that erring students are not spared,” he said.

He urged the 1425 students who were matriculated to shun cultism and examination malpractice.

“Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) is a conventional university established in 2013 in order to take education at higher level to the grassroot. The university has 3 faculties, science, humanities ,education and management and social sciences. We have also sent 5 of our lecturers for PhD abroad,” he said.

He said there are 27 programmes which are about to be accredited soon and  that maiden convocation would hold at the end of the year.

“There is a university health center equipped with all the necessary for tests and other diagnosis and treatments. All staff are there for the students and are assured of quality academic life, ” he added.
