Fayose Projects: PDP Governors storm Ekiti

No fewer than 11 governors of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) controlled states are expected in Ekiti state today to commission and inaugurate projects executed by the Ayo Fayose-led administration and the Church thanksgiving by the Taraba State Governor, Arc Darius Ishaku over his victory at the Supreme Court over the All Progressive Congress (APC)’s Mrs. Aisha Alhassan.
The expected governors are Hon. Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom, Hon. Serieke Dickson of Bayelsa, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Alhaji Ibrahim Dakwambo of Gombe, Hon. David Umahi of Ebonyi, Dr. Ifeayin Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Senator Ifeayi Okowa of Delta, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo, Chief Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Arc Darius Ishaku of Taraba and Senator Ben Ayade of Cross River State.
While Projects for commissioning are the Women Development Centre named after the late deputy governor of the state under Fayemi, Mrs. Adunni Olayinka, 6.2km De-Head-Adetiloye road executed at N782,021,436,the 800 metre dualised Awedele-Secretariat road which gulped N488,199,974 and the Ewi of Ado Ekiti palace gallery on which the government said it spent N212.1m to complete.
The Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Lanre Ogunsuyi and the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Idowu Adelusi, disclosed this at a press conference Thursday in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
Ogunsuyi said the Adunni Olayinka Women Centre was constructed at ‘no cost” to the government but through donations from corporate organisations and admirers of the late deputy governor.
While the Chief Press Secretary explained that Governor Ishaku requested that the thanksgiving be held in Ekiti in appreciation of the support Fayose gave him during the trial.
