Father slaughters 4 children, attempts taking own life
By;  Mohammad Ibrahim, Kaduna.
Residents of Kawo a suburb of Kaduna metropolis today were thrown into confusion when a 60 year old family man, Sale Yaro a car dealer slaughtered four of his six kids in the area.
The incidence occurred in his resident located at Dr Bello Close in the area around 2:07 pm.
According to neighbours, the victim also sliced his throat in an attempt to kill himself to avoid arrest.
An eye witnessed who did not want his name mentioned said police have evacuated the corpses while the father was rushed to an undisclosed hospital.
“We were all shocked to see the corpses of the kids with their throat sliced and the father too have his throat sliced with a knife.
“I was the first person to inform the Police about it around 2:07 pm. When they arrived we entered the compound and found the bodies in cold blood lying on the floor.
“It was really horrific because I could not imagine him killing his own biological children in that horrific manner. I knew him to be a gentle man only that recently his car selling business was not doing well” the neighbour said with emotion-laden voice.
It was gathered that the suspect was having problem with his car selling business which many believed might have been the reason for the dastardly act of taking the lives of the innocent children.
“We heard his car business isn’t moving well and he was also having problem with his wife. In fact, they quarrel a day before the incidence and she left him alone with the kids inside the room,” another neighbour said.
When our reporter got to the house, hundreds of sympathizers were seen in group discussing the sad situation.
The wife was said to have been rushed to an undisclosed hospital after she heard the story.
It was further gathered that the remaining two kids escaped their father’s knife because one of them was in school and the eldest was not at home.
Kaduna State Police Command Spokesperson, DSP Zubairu Abubakar confirmed the incidence, saying the suspected is receiving treatment in the hospital and investigation into the incident has commenced.
