A middle aged man identified as Mike Ajulo has been arrested by the men of the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Akure, the Ondo State capital for parading himself to the public as an army officer.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the brigade, Captain Ojo Adelegan, the suspect has allegedly been involving in criminal activities in many areas of the state, claiming to be a soldier.
He said, the suspect from Imoru in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State was arrested in Akure on Friday by the men of the brigade after he (suspect), following a report that he allegedly involved in some land matters.
Adelegan said, “He has been involving in impersonation, he had been going about telling people that he is an army officer.
“His arrest was as a result of reported cases of land issue and other criminal activities against him, he has confessed to some of the crimes reported against him.
“The Brigade is using this medium to inform the general public that Mr. Mike Ajulo is not an army officer and also, he has never worked as a military officer anywhere”
He said the 48-year-old suspect will be handed over to the Ondo State Police Command for prosecution after the brigade had concluded its investigation on the matter.
The brigade spokesman appealed to the people of the state to be mindful of the people they would be having business transaction with, saying they should report to the brigade any person with doubtful army identity.
