Eye and HIV Screening for Journalists in Jos

The Plateau State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists,  NUJ in collaboration with a private eye clinic based in Jos and PLACA have organized a  free eye and HIV screening for Journalists and members of the public.
The state Council Chairman, Mr. Yakubu Tardy in a brief remark before the commencement of the exercise, noted that the free eye and the HIV screening is important among the practicing and non practicing members alike.
Our correspondent in Jos who was among the screened journalists, reported that the event held at the NUJ press club.
He explained that the screening among the practitioners become important in view of interaction with the public in the larger society.
The chairman called on the members of NUJ to always get screened so that they can know their status.
The executive Director of the state AIDS control Agency, Mr. Sunday Markus and the Chief Medical Director of Jordan Eye Hospital, underscored the need for the screening among journalists.
