The immediate past transition committee chairman of Jos North Local Government Area in Plateau State, Hon. Theresa Azi has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong to ensure the 35% affirmative action for women in Plateau State in particular and Nigeria as a whole is not toyed with.
Theresa vowed that the women folk will not rest on their oars until they achieve the struggle.
Theresa made the promise in an interview with our correspondence at Hill Station junction in Jos, the Plateau State Capital.
She congratulated Governor Bako Lalong over his election as the chairman Northern governor’s Forum.
“l will first congratulate His Excellency the Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon Simon Bako lalong on his recent appointment as the chairman of the Northern Governors Forum. We are calling on him to look at the (35%) affirmative action for the women in Plateau state,and our president Muhammadu Buhari to equally take queue from the government of Plateau State and look into the (35%) affairmative action for the women of Nigeria.”
She said this was important because women if given chance offer example of exemplary leadership wherever they find themselves.
