A former President of National Council for Women Societies (NCWS) Nigeria, Ebonyi State chapter, Hon. Mrs. Theresa Osinachi Omoke has been honored with Woman of Faith Award by the Women’s Guild of Reform Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Abakaliki in appreciation of her selfless service to the church of God and humanity.
The event which took place on Sunday September 11, 2022 during the Women’s Guild Emphasis Sunday Celebration, was witnessed by friends and well-wishers from all walks of life who came to celebrate with her.
Earlier in her sermon, the Women’s Guild President, Mrs. Ndidi Elom stated that every woman needs help from God because life is full of challenges.
Mrs. Elom who spoke on the theme, “Women Helped By God”, explained that when one struggles without results, it is an indication that the person needs help which can only come from God because man can disappoint at any moment, saying that when you are helped by God, you will experience pleasant surprises from every aspect of human endeavour.
She further noted that Deborah in the scripture was the one who came out to occupy a position formerly occupied by men when the people of Israel were facing challenges and refused to join others to worship idols, adding that a woman helped by God is always courageous to face uncertainties and always willing to offer herself to save others.
Mrs. Elom charged women to always work with God because the grace of God is available for every woman to do exploits.
While receiving the award, the former President of NCWS in Ebonyi State, Hon. Mrs. Theresa Osinachi Omoke expressed joy over the honour, saying that the award stands as a memorial and therefore, she dedicated it to God who has been sustaining her and the entire family.
She also urged women to always serve God in spirit and in truth, because He will never disappoint them.
“I am happy and excited over this award. This singular honour is a memorial and I want to dedicate it to the Almighty God who has kept me so far with my children and grandchildren. I want to encourage every women to always serve God in spirit and in truth wether man recognizes you or not.
“If you are serving God, serve him with sincerity and open heart because He can never disappoint you no matter the challenges, He is always there to deliver his people.
“This award will ginger me to do more in the house of God and touch more lives in the society,” she said.
Her friends and well wishers like a former Deputy Governor, Prof. Chigozie Ogbu, Dr. Odicha Ude, Prof.Sunday Agwu, Engr.Paul Okorie, among others, appreciated God for His grace over Mrs. Omoke, saying that the award given to her is well deserved because of enormous contributions to the advancement of God’s kingdom.
