Emir tasks subjects on health programme

Communities within and outside Misau emirate have been urged to embrace the Community Based Health Insurance Scheme (CBHIS) in order to have access to affordable health service.
The Emir of Misau, Alhaji Ahmad Suleiman made the plea when Officials of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and Andiwa Mutual Health Association paid him homage at his palace in Misau in preparation of the flagging off of the CHIS in the emirate.
According to him, Federal Government wants to ease health service to the grassroots or communities with the determination to ensure that the CBHIS spread to all nooks and crannies of the villages.
The Emir explained that the scheme would enable citizens of every community take charge of their health and also enable them have access to qualitative and affordable health care services.
He assured the Andiwa Mutual Health Association and NHIS of his support for the flag off the Community Based Social Health Insurance Programme in his domain and beyond, and promised to consult stakeholders to make sure that his people are properly enlightened on the programme.
In his remark the State Coordinator NHIS, Sani Garba Atta called on the emir to use his influence to ensure the commencement of the programme for its numerous benefits to the populace.
Garba also assured the emirate of the scheme’s commitment to provide Technical support and incentives to the community that joins the CBHIS
Vice Chairman Andiwa Mutual Health Association, Alhaji Ali Musa had earlier in a speech said that the association designated Misau Emirate as its flagship for the launching of programme in view of the commitment shown by the Emir, Ahmed Suleiman
He however disclosed that his association has made all arrangements for the take off the programme in the remaining eight Local Government Areas of the state.
