The Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to expand the ongoing Voters registration from local government secretariats to ward level.
He made the call when members of the Correspondents Chapel 11 of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State in his palace who paid him homage on his 43rd year anniversary on throne.
The Emir who spoke through Dokajen Zazzau, Alh. Shehu Garba said that unless urgent measures are taken to address the problems encountered by those wanting to register.
He cited an example of some wards that are far away from Local Government secretariat that find it difficult to go.
The Emir expressed his appreciation to members of the media for their good and quality report on the activities of the palace and the emirate.
Earlier, the acting Chairman, Correspondents Chapel 11 Zaria, Comrade Bello Habib said they were in the palace to felicitate with the Emir on his 43rd anniversary on throne.
Comrade Bello Habib called for the Emir’s intervention by calling on his subjects to get registered for voters card and National ID card.
