Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the suspension of train services from Saturday 25th to Monday 27th February 2023 because of the general elections which will take place on Saturday.
The routes affected by the suspension are Abuja-Kaduna Train Service (AKTS), Warri-Itakpe Train Service (WITS), Lagos-Ibadan Train Service (LITS) and Iddo Lagos-Ijoko Interstate Mass Transit Passengers Train Service.
The Corporation stated this in a statement made available by its Deputy Director, Public Relations, Yakub Mahmood, yesterday.
The Board and Management of Nigerian Railway Corporation explained that the decision was taken in order “to enable Nigerians exercise their civic responsibilities.”
The Corporation assured the general public that normal train services will resume on Tuesday 28th February 2023.
